Circulation of petitions July 3 - August 25

The City of Freeman has a seat in each ward for a 2-year term and the mayor position for a 2-year term open in 2026. Those interested in circulating a petition to run for office may do so beginning on Friday, July 3, 2026. The deadline for presenting signed petitions to the finance office at Freeman’s City Hall is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Downloadable petitions and additional information regarding elections, as well as rules for circulating petitions, can be found by visiting the South Dakota Secretary of State’s website or stopping by the finance office at City Hall.
